So, I have been anxiously awaiting feeling the baby for the first time; and I am not sure exactly what it is supposed to feel like. I have heard "butterflies, flutters, feels like gas" etc. I believe I have felt this a few times, but last night driving home from work I was listening (and for anyone who knows me well, singing) my Alabama Christmas CD. Specifically, "Thistlehair the Christmas Bear." All of a sudden, I felt this crazy pressure and movement right below my belly button. It continued for the entire song and then stopped. I think our baby likes Thistlehair! Dave thinks the baby was telling me to turn it off! =)
I am 18 weeks, and doing pretty well, as you can see from the photos, I have a slight bump, but it is bigger in person! I have only gained two pounds so far as I had lost about four pounds in my first trimester (so made up those four and gained about two).
We have finished all of our Christmas shopping (thank goodness), shopping wears me out these days! The house is almost ready for our yearly Festivus party this saturday. I am really looking forward to my week off between Christmas and New year's so I can start to get the nursery ready. We also have our ultrasound on December 27. We are not going to find out the sex of the baby, so we are just doing one ultrasound to make sure that everything is developing as it should.
I guess that's enough for now, hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
